Project Overview

The app is link to ICOM , The project aims to design a mobile app that allows users to track the status of their service requests using a receipt number linked to their case. This initiative is critical not only for improving the efficiency and transparency of service delivery but also for rebuilding trust between the government and the Diaspora community. The app is designed to provide a more effective and user-friendly solution, addressing the long-standing issues of delayed communication and lack of transparency that have eroded trust over time.

Problem Statement

The relationship between the government and the Diaspora community has been strained due to persistent issues in service delivery, including delayed responses and a lack of transparency in processing service requests. These challenges have led to frustration and a significant erosion of trust. Current systems fail to provide users with real-time updates or a clear understanding of the status of their requests, leaving them uncertain and disconnected.

The need for a reliable and transparent solution is critical to restoring confidence in government services. The goal of this project is to design a mobile app that empowers users to track the status of their service requests more effectively through a receipt number linked to their case. By providing timely updates and clear communication, the app seeks to not only enhance the user experience but also rebuild the trust that has been lost over time.

Problem and Hypothesis statement

Problem

Jeannette Dorsainvil, a healthcare worker and member of the Haitian Diaspora in Brooklyn, struggles with the lack of transparency and efficiency in tracking her service requests with the Haitian government. Long processing times and unclear communication have led to frustration, stress, and a loss of trust in the system. Jeannette needs a reliable and user-friendly solution that provides timely updates and clear information, enabling her to manage her requests with confidence and peace of mind.

how might we (HMW)

How might we create a mobile app that empowers members of the Haitian Diaspora, like Jeannette, to easily track the status of their service requests, ensuring transparency, timely updates, and a user-friendly experience, thereby rebuilding trust between the government and the Diaspora community?

hypothesis statement

We believe that by developing a mobile app that allows users like Jeannette to track the status of their service requests using a receipt number, we can significantly reduce the uncertainty and frustration caused by the current system. By providing real-time updates, clear communication, and a simple interface, the app will not only enhance the efficiency of service delivery but also rebuild trust between the government and the Haitian Diaspora. If successful, users will feel more connected and assured that their requests are being handled promptly and transparently.

These statements should clearly define the problem and guide the design and development process, focusing on the needs of users like Jeannette.

Mid-Fi

The mid-fidelity prototype for our case tracking mobile app offers a detailed representation of the app’s core functionality and user flow. It focuses on simplifying the process for users like Jeannette to track the status of their service requests using a receipt number. The design prioritizes clarity and ease of use, ensuring that users can quickly access the information they need without unnecessary steps.

Key features include a clean, intuitive interface that guides users through adding their case, viewing real-time status updates, and receiving notifications for any changes. This prototype serves as an essential bridge between initial concepts and the final design, allowing us to test and refine the user experience based on feedback.

Hi-Fi Prototype

The high-fidelity prototype represents the final design of our case tracking mobile app, incorporating detailed visual elements and interactive features. This prototype showcases a polished user interface designed to provide a seamless and intuitive experience for tracking service requests.

Key features include a user-friendly dashboard, real-time status updates, and clear, accessible navigation. The design emphasizes simplicity and transparency, ensuring users like Jeannette can effortlessly manage their requests with confidence. This high-fidelity version not only reflects our commitment to user-centered design but also sets the stage for usability testing and final adjustments before development.

Conclusion

The case tracking mobile app project has successfully addressed the critical need for a more transparent and efficient system for managing service requests. By providing a user-friendly interface and real-time updates, the app empowers users like Jeannette to track their cases with confidence and ease.

Our high-fidelity prototype demonstrates a design that not only meets functional requirements but also fosters trust between the government and the Diaspora community. Through clear communication and an intuitive user experience, the app aims to restore confidence and streamline interactions with government services.

Looking ahead, further refinements and user feedback will continue to enhance the app’s effectiveness and ensure it fully meets the needs of its users. This project represents a significant step toward improving service delivery and strengthening connections between the government and its global citizens.
